2022 was a HUGE year for us on the farm. We had to pivot big time. We went from trying to start a Lavender farm with obstacles in every direction. Everything from our weed fabric to our plants had major issues and some complete road blocks. It felt like we were failing. And we were. After a lot of prayer and discussions we decided to make a change. We did a ton of research and bought some breeding pigs. And so our ranching adventure began. LOL. Throughout the year the kids have grown so much and they love doing their “chores”. We had several litters of piglets, our first experience was terrible but it taught us a lot! Then with the breeding sows it went so smoothly! Although Things still go sideways all the time we are learning so much. How to be flexible and how to not be so hard on ourselves and to just keep learning from our myriad of mistakes. And as the saying goes you make a plan and God laughs. We have found though that when the plans go sideways God has something else in mind and then boom it manifests. We added 2 livestock guardian dogs Maggie and Duke. We also added goats, alpacas, another sweet goat, and my beautiful chickens. We plan on getting our cows in the spring. Hopefully as the new year unfolds our farm will flourish! We are working on regenerating our soil and becoming self sustainable. So many projects still are still in the works. And We look forward to 2023 and all the blessings coming our way. And being able to sell our pork to many many families and know that it a way healthier alternative to commercial pork products. We are thankful Even for the tribulations because we learn so much through that. But if there are a few less tribulations this year we won’t be complaining. Thank you to all who support us in this adventure we appreciate you. And we are so happy to be bringing you premium pasture raised pork starting in 2023.
